2008 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7L Cummins. "Oil Change Required" message appears on the overhead readout.... I've changed the oil, now how do I reset the message???

Its one or the other I dont remember :D

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start it!!).
Press and release the brake pedal two times.
Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.

or


turn the key to first notch.. let all the lights on dash cycle.. then fully depress gas pedal 3 times..turn key back to off postion. when you turn key back on it should be gone

if it dont work with 3 try 4 trucks verry

I thought you had to use a scan tool to reset the maintenance required light?

From the 2008 Dodge Ram owner's manual!

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not
start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three
times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.



This is the same way I reset my 2008 Charger SRT! :smileup:

Advice taken..oil change coming up in a few days. Just bought the truck 2 weeks ago but I wanna make sure everythings done correctly. In other words, I'll do it...
