I'm looking to build a higher hp street truck (500-650 range) with the ability to still pull my skid steer and tractors if needed. Currently have a 99 f250 light duty with the 4.6L gas, and while its a great truck, its a dog getting up to speed and struggles pulling any of the machines. I don't have to move them often (maybe 1 machine a month, slightly more during the summer), so I do not want it to be strictly for towing. I will also not be using the diesel as a daily but will drive it often. So, my question is, 5.9 cummins or 7.3 powerstroke? I know they both would need built transmissions, bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, etc, but is the cummins really that much easier, cheaper, better to make power with? I would like to here personal opinions on what you all think is better. Thanks!
