Hello, I am looking at purchasing a 1990 GMC Suburban. I have not looked at the truck yet but the owner told me that he cracked the thermostat housing. I am wondering if this is fixable or replaceable. I could swear that the CAT 3126s that I used to work on the the thermostat housing was part of the block, but I could be wrong about that too. I was hoping someone here would know if that can be fixed or if I would be stuck with a forever leaking thermostat housing. Any other words of advise before purchasing this truck would be helpfull.

Thank you for your help, I did purchase the Suburban and I am loving every minute that I drive it. It needs some work, but it's all stuff I can fix as I go. Can't wait to pull something with it. I know it's not the power horse that the newer diesels are but it's gotta have more power than my 1/2 ton dodge with a slant six.

I'm glad to hear your enjoying your new ride. Is the T Housing leaking a lot? Did you replace it?
Love to see pictures of it
